Hi

I really like LastTab and am looking forward to a version for Firefox 3.

Are you already working on it?  Is there some way I can help?

Hey, I'm sorry for not responding until now; just now checking the forums.

Mozilla sends out an email a few months before major Firefox versions are released to extension developers so I've already been taking a look at what would need to be changed. There are some breaking changes that will require code changes on my part, just upping the maxVersion won't work. Right now I've just identified exactly what needs to be changed but I haven't actually done any coding on it yet -- been kind of lazy on the coding front to be honest. Specifically, the tab list window doesn't appear and the tab menu has conflicts with the default Firefox one. I think the tab list window not appearing will be an easy fix but I've still been thinking of what to do about the tab menu. I should be okay on the coding though. From looking at Mozilla's timeline on a Firefox 3 release I still have a few months to procrastinate. Smile

Thanks for letting me know you like using it. Seriously, it is really nice to know people appreciate it.

Yeah.  After changing maxVersion, the first error I got was about LastTab.Browser.TabMenu being null.  Looks like the tabbrowser overlay element didn't work.  I tried removing that code, and now Ctrl+Tab kind of works: it works OK between the two most recent tabs, but pressing Ctrl+Tab twice does weird things.  I guess/hope that's related to the tab list not working?

If you wanted to post your list of required changes I could take a look.

(I don't care about the tab menu.  I just want Ctrl+Tab to work!)

I'm also mainly (if not only) interested in Ctrl+Tab to work better than with pure Firefox, i.e. switching the tabs in the correct order. Maybe it would be easier for you to first convert a smaller part like "LastTab Light" for Firefox 3.0?

Love Last Tab, use it all the time - please continue development for FF3, it's a real PITA without it.

(Not sure if this will get read, but as I created an account especially, figured I might was well go ahead... Stick out tongue

Don't worry, I read everything on here, eventually. Stick out tongue

I'm going to work on it today. I'll have a Firefox 3 version by its official release date.

YES!! Since I started using trunk a couple months ago I have been missing Last Tab. I'm glad to see that you are working on a FF3 version. I wish tabs would always work like with Last Tab in all software. Keep up the good work, it is sincerely appreciated. Looking forward to the updated version. Best regards,

J.

I'm too waiting for the Firefox 3 version of LastTab... Browsing with Firefox is so much better with LastTab :-) I really miss it in Firefox 3 beta. :-(

Thank you, this is one of the first extensions I always install after installing Firefox.

:) Any beta, or even raw alpha with support for the latest FF3 to be found anywhere?

As far as I am concerned tabbed browsing is useless without the LastTab - so a million thanks!!!!

I've been using it since the very beginning - and anxiously await an alpha version for FF3... hint, hint...

Thanks again!!!

Hello, Humpty,
It looks like Firefox 3.0 should be released in a week or so, and I have been waiting for LastTab so that I could update from Firefox 2.x. Believe it or not, LastTab is the only thing that's holding me back from updating.

I have been using LastTab since it was first released, and to this day, it is still one of my top three Firefox extensions. When I give Firefox to my friends, I make sure that LastTab is installed, even if I do not install a single other extension. That is how valuable I think your extension is, and I would like to thank you for creating LastTab. Honestly, I am surprised the developers of Firefox hasn't implemented such a feature right into Firefox.

I hope that we will be able to see a release of LastTab for Firefox 3.0 soon. Thank you, Humpty.

Have a great day,
Victor

Just another "LastTab" is essential. I also concur with those that favor the ctrl-tab over the tab list. As long as I can use ctrl-tab then I don't need the list.

I folded a bit and upgraded to Firefox 3.0 RC1 and a few of my usual extensions do not work. However, I feel the absense of LastTab the most, and at least 10 times every day, I really wish I had it installed. Save us, Timothy! =P

Firefox 3.0 RC2 will be the final version of Firefox 3.0, and I'm guessing Firefox 3.0 will be out within a few days (a week at the most). Please have a compatible version of LastTab by then. I've been checking this Web site at least once a day just waiting for this extension. Thanks.
